Photopuncture

Light, precision, balance

Targeted photopuncture sessions that support circulation, calm the nervous system, and encourage the body’s natural recovery responses
“Board Certified Light Therapist” badge, PTI Certified, SPIE Lifetime Member, WALT Member, Sun is Life Magazine staff writer.

Photopuncture is targeted light therapy on specific points that correspond to nerves, muscles, and meridian pathways. Low level red and near infrared light is applied to selected points to encourage local circulation, reduce tension, and support the body’s self regulation. Photopuncture uses non thermal, low level light at select wavelengths, typically in the red range around 630 to 660 nanometers, and the near infrared range around 810 to 880 nanometers, to modulate cellular signaling in the skin and superficial tissues through photobiomodulation. The goal is to influence nitric oxide availability, mitochondrial activity, and local microcirculation.
Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to arms, legs, back, and neck. Shorts or leggings and a tank or sports bra are perfect.

Results and ReviewsClient notes:
“Neck felt lighter and I slept so well that night.”
“My cooldown after lifting felt faster with the point work.”
“I love the ritual, breathe, light, then sauna.”
Individual experiences vary.

FAQIs it the same as acupuncture
No needles are used. Photopuncture uses light on points, some overlap meridian maps, some align with modern trigger points and nerves.
Does it hurt
Clients usually feel no pain, only gentle contact and a sense of warmth or calm.
How many sessions will I need
Many feel relaxed after a single session. For a goal based series, we suggest two sessions per week for two weeks, then weekly check ins, then maintenance as desired.
Can I tan on the same day
Yes, however schedule photopuncture when the body is cool, then tan later or on alternating days for best rhythm.
Can I combine with massage
Yes. Photopuncture first, massage second, or on separate days.
Is it safe for kids
We limit photopuncture to adults 18 and older except by special arrangement with parental consent.

Policies
  • Arrival: Please arrive five minutes early to complete or update your intake
  • Late arrivals: Sessions may be shortened to respect the next client
  • Cancellations: Kindly provide 24 hours notice to avoid a late fee
  • Hygiene: Clean skin in the target areas is required, remove heavy lotions and perfumes before the visit, arrive clean and showered
  • Lotions and products: Only approved products in red light rooms, staff may inspect for safety

Light at 630 to 660 nanometers interacts primarily with superficial tissues in the skin
  • Near infrared around 810 to 880 nanometers reaches deeper, often associated with microcirculation support
  • Photobiomodulation describes non thermal light triggering a photochemical response, similar to photosynthesis analogies, without heat damage
  • Nitric oxide signaling and mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase are two proposed targets in the literature
We present mechanisms as educational context, not as claims of guaranteed outcomes.
This service is not a medical treatment, diagnosis, or cure, results vary, client comfort and relaxation are our priorities.
